RIPLEY -- Larry "Leo" Montgomery, 58, resident of Ripley Township (Delphi), passed away Oct. 8, 2012, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Willard. He lived his life in the Delphi and Greenwich area. He recently celebrated his 20-year anniversary working for R&L Carriers in June. His previous trucking companies include Buurma Farms, Myers Trucking, K&P Trucking and Sheller Globe. He enjoyed working outside and helping neighbors and friends in any way he could. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR and supporting his daughter in powerlifting. Leo is survived by his mother, Roberta (Dyer) Montgomery; wife, Patricia (Hess) Montgomery; daughter, LeeAnn Montgomery; sister, Denise Claytor; brother, Gary (Kimberly) Montgomery; three brothers-in-law, John Hess, Jerry (Marti) Hess, and Jeff (Peggy) Hess; four sisters-in-law, Sharon (Gary) Eastman, Carol (Dick) Schafer, Cindy (Ron) Carey and Lynda Hess; and mother-in-law, June Hess. He had a special place in his heart for his late Uncle Marvin and Aunt Arizona and their family. He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Orbin Montgomery; father-in-law, James T. Hess; and brother-in-law, James J. Hess. Friends may call Oct. 11 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Oct. 12 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery. Patricia 'Pat' Jane Montgomery
She was born Oct. 20, 1955, in New London and lived in the North Fairfield and Greenwich area her entire life. She worked as a waitress for many years at Country Kitchen in Willard. Her passion was taking care of the younger generation as a daycare provider and superintendent for the goat barn at the Huron County Fair. Most of all, she supported her daughter in all of her activities and endeavors. She is survived by her daughter, LeeAnn Montgomery; mother, June Hess; three brothers, John Hess, Jerry (Marti) Hess and Jeff (Peggy) Hess; four sisters, Sharon (Gary) Eastman, Carol (Dick) Schafer, Cindy (Ron) Carey and Lynda Hess; mother-in-law, Roberta (Dyer) Montgomery; sister-in-law, Denise Claytor; and brother-in-law, Gary (Kimberly) Montgomery. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry "Leo" Montgomery who died Oct. 8, 2012; father, James T. Hess; brother James J. Hess; and father-in-law, the Rev. Orbin Montgomery. Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Jan. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., where the funeral service will take place Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ricky Branham officiating.
